The first season dreamed up by Mani Soleymanlou. A hand outstretched to artists right across the country. Through that gesture, our stage is being redrawn, connections are being made, communities are coming together, and stories are being written. It’s a time to reflect, to laugh, to whisper, to shed a tear, to grit our teeth, to be astonished, to imagine together. It’s a time for reunion. It’s a time to go to the theatre. Together.
A year and a half ago I wrote you a letter. Like tossing a bottle into the sea. Theatres in every city were closed. We were told to stay home, safe in isolation. On my island I often thought of you, whom I no longer saw.
How do you put an intuition into words? Name the unnameable? It's impossible to put into words the immense pleasure, the mounting vertigo and the ever-increasing happiness sparked by the prospect of getting (back) on stage.
