French Theatre welcomed seven exceptional artists to a series of in-depth interviews. Artists who, since the beginning of the pandemic, have continued to work, dream, reflect and create as best they can.

Together with co-hosts Brigitte Haentjens and Mani Soleymanlou, meet Marie Brassard, Philippe Cyr, Stéphanie Jasmin, Jérémie Niel, Anne-Marie Ouellet, Sébastien Ricard and Allain Roy. Artists who, each in their own way, challenge, disrupt, awaken.

Theatre is a living, vibrant art form, always in motion, suffused with images and sensations, constructed of words, movements, sound and light. Together, these creators remind us of this and revive this “presence”—so fierce, so invigorating.

Directed by Jérémie Battaglia, Portrait(s): Le théâtre à l’avant-plan (Portrait[s]: Theatre at the Forefront) showcases inspiring artists who we hope will present their work on one of the NAC’s stages in 2021–2022—the final season conceived by Brigitte Haentjens.
