David Zinman Conductor Workshop

January 24-26, 2015

Application deadline: Monday, November 10, 2014

The David Zinman Conductor Workshop in Ottawa, Canada will provide a valuable and unique opportunity for four young emerging orchestral conductors.

Acceptance to the program is based on review of submitted audition materials, level of experience and expressed goals in participating. Those selected in the final round of auditions may be contacted for a live interview. Participants will receive full support for travel, and hotel and per diem while in Ottawa. Auditors may attend at their own expense upon approval of an application and audition video.

All conducting sessions are recorded for personal use and as the basis for detailed review led by Maestro Zinman. The three-day workshop includes score study and work with a piano sextet. The workshop culminates with each conducting fellow leading Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in two rehearsals under the supervision of Maestro Zinman.
