Lively bilingual one-hour performances featuring the NAC Orchestra, accompanied by dancers, actors and even scientists! With Principal Youth and Family Conductor Alain Trudel, it’s always hands-on and fun, whether you’re five or 105!

  1. The internationally-acclaimed Enchantment Theatre Company makes its NAC debut! An enchanted tree with golden apples. An evil magician conjuring a terrible storm. A beautiful princess and her magical unicorn. See and hear the captivating Russian tale of Prince Ivan and the majestic Firebird as Stravinsky’s famous music comes to life, complete with life-sized puppets, masks and magic.

  2. “Hack the symphony” with audacious new explorations of sound and symphonic classics through science and technology. Arrive early for a special Maker Faire Ottawa edition of TUNETOWN and tinker with unique inventions and instruments featured in the concert! Brought to you by the creative engines of the NAC Orchestra, Canada Science and Technology Museum, pHacktory, and Artengine.

  3. Searing summers, frozen winters, gentle spring rain, and brilliant autumn colours come to life in music. Alain Trudel and the NAC Orchestra explore Antonio Vivaldi’s vibrant Four Seasons, Astor Piazzolla’s energetic Argentinian Tango, and other climate-inspired music with the help of virtuoso guest artists.

  4. Superheroes abound in an afternoon of movie and classical favourites, with a super-sized 140-member orchestra conducted by Alexander Shelley. The NAC Orchestra and Ottawa Youth Orchestra combine forces, performing music celebrating the men and women who’ve inspired historical and fictional legends, from Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade and to John Williams’s Superman. Costumes encouraged for concertgoers of all ages!

This series is made possible in part by the NAC’s National Youth and Education Trust. The Trust is supported by Lead Partner Rogers, and supporters and patrons of the annual NAC Gala and the donors of the NAC Foundation Corporate Club and Donors’ Circle.
