French Theatre Student Matinees

“I still believe in our boundless ability to dream and imagine, and in our power to reshape our lives through our desires, ideas and curiosity. That is precisely what theatre – when we stick to it – awakens, sharpens and inspires in us.”

~ Mélanie Dumont, Associate Artistic Director, Youth Programming

    30 seats only !

The presentation includes a snack, and a display of the Lullaby Cycle to explore.

To the strains of a familiar lullaby and the rhythmic creaking of a wooden rocking chair, a baby falls asleep, nestled in loving arms. A gentle, soothing sensation and one of our earliest memories. To recapture that comforting experience, Les Incomplètes created Les matinées berçantes. Laurence P Lafaille, Audrey Marchand and Josiane Bernier set out along the highways and byways of Gascony, Alsace, and the Innu community of Quebec’s Côte-Nord region, gathering traditional lullabies. Three different cultures woven into an ethereal electro-acoustic concert, drawing parents and children into a remarkable, ever-shifting soundscape. Three unique opportunities to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and hide out together as a group.

PUTTING YOUR SCHOOL TO WORK

In the spring of 2017, you and your students can invite a local writer to your school for an exciting and rewarding creative experience.

You can have an artist-in-residence right in your classroom for a series of interactive workshops in which they can share their ideas, their sensitivities and their vision of the world! As the relationship develops, students will gradually learn to express themselves and let their imagination run wild.

It's a wonderful opportunity for interaction and creative development.

VISITS BY CREATIVE ARTISTS!

May we suggest that you welcome into your classroom some of the creative artists who will be coming to the NAC's French Theatre. It is a fantastic way to familiarize your students with the performing arts before they come to the theatre.

(Better hurry, because bookings are limited!)

DE PLAIN-PIED EVENINGS

Two exciting youth events that are halfway between a creative workshop and a party. New projects, challenges and encounters will keep everyone busy!
