It was full speed ahead for NAC French Theatre’s first season, fully programmed by Artistic Director Mani Soleymanlou. Un. Deux. Trois., an epic performance written and directed by Mani, opened at the NAC in September 2022 before going on tour to eight other Canadian cities—Sudbury, Toronto, Montréal, Québec, Caraquet, Moncton, Vancouver and Winnipeg.
One of the biggest all-Canadian casts to tour this year, this sell-out trilogy about the quest for identity was co-produced with nine theatre companies and involved 37 francophone actors from across the country for its collaborative third act, Trois. With your support, Mani and his team truly celebrated the vibrancy and diversity of Canada's Francophone communities.
Alexandre Vigneault from La Presse wrote “It’s an important text in a country like ours that would reach out to exiles. The play is a reminder of how essential theatre becomes when it carries a strong message that dares to confront the world head on.”
Un. Deux. Trois. is an essential contemporary play with rich themes and a unique point of view on identity, and it is with help from donors like you that Canadians from across the country are hearing its message. Thank you!
