  Artist Heather Nicol

  Heather Nicol is a Toronto-based, Ottawa-raised artist whose practice includes immersive sound installation, sculpture, performance and participatory actions. Her site-specific interventions have been presented nationally and internationally, and explore the architectural, sonic, historic and operational conditions of her locations. 

  Installations by Heather have been experienced in enormous concourse atriums such as Brookfield Place, Toronto, and New York’s Winter Garden. She has also created interventions in former rail terminals, decommissioned theme parks, a French chateau, and Toronto’s Union Station. 

  Heather Nicol est une artiste établie à Toronto qui a grandi à Ottawa. Elle s’adonne entre autres aux installations sonores immersives, à la sculpture, à la performance et aux actions participatives. Ses interventions in situ ont été présentées au Canada et à l’étranger, et explorent les conditions architecturales, acoustiques, historiques et opérationnelles des lieux où elles se trouvent. 

  Les installations de Heather ont été contemplées dans de vastes atriums comme Brookfield Place à Toronto et le Winter Garden de New York. Elle a aussi créé des interventions dans d’anciennes gares, des parcs d’attractions désaffectés, un château français et la gare Union de Toronto.
