Junkyard Symphony

Junkyard Symphony is an eco-entertainment company (eco standing for ecological and economical), that reuses junk to service all kinds of events for all ages.

What do they do with all this junk? They do many things with junk but are best known for their amazing junk/percussion/comedy/circus shows. They also produce imaginative and innovative sports and games by reusing junk materials, have created several CDs using junk for instruments, and are presently working on a children's novel with a junk theme.

Junkyard Symphony strives to promote environmental health and awareness through educational and extraordinary entertainment by reusing old ordinary objects that would otherwise be sadly destined for the junkyard. But to Junkyard Symphony, however, these objects are terrific treasures that can be reused for an even greater purpose… to create lots of big smiles.

Presented in association with MASC
(Multicultural Arts for Schools and Communities)

MASC, established in 1989, is a bilingual charity committed to connecting artists and learning, by providing schools and communities with experiences of artistic excellence and creative process.

What does MASC do? MASC brings performances and hands-on workshops, created and delivered by professional artists from diversity for discipline and cultural backgrounds, to schools and community groups in the National Capital Region, Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and Outaouais.

Who benefits from MASC programs? Over 120,000 seniors, youth and children, in over 223 schools and 67 community groups experience MASC every year. MASC is committed to making programs accessible to everyone in the community and seeks partners to provide subsidies for programs serving high-need communities.

What does MASC offer? MASC programs vividly explore Canada’s cultural diversity, deepen awareness, encourage understanding and awaken creativity. MASC’s compelling arts experiences are also fundamental to building an understanding of the arts as an essential human activity and are critical to the development of a dynamic, resilient and creative civil society.
