A pre-opera chat at 7:00 p.m. before performances of La Bohème. Speaker: Artistic Director Tyrone Paterson

The most beloved opera ever composed is a series of vignettes from the lives of young bohemians (a painter, a writer, a musician, a singer, a seamstress, and a philosopher) in the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1840s.   The story focuses on the love between Mimi, the seamstress, and Rodolfo, the poet, surrounded by their rambunctious friends.  Mimi is mortally ill and Rodolfo feels guilty that their life together in a cold Parisian garret is making her worse.
