Élargir les horizons artistiques
The purpose of the Élargir les horizons artistiques project is to explore various ways to approach the creative process and its relationship to the audience and the performance space. The goal is to allow artists to revisit their practice and their vision of the link between a work and its audience or between a place and the community. Building on the many artistic and civic meetings of the first two phases of the project, or inspired by Ottawa’s landscape and infrastructure, project participants will immerse themselves in an experimental laboratory during Zones Théâtrales. They will develop prototype artistic projects that may eventually be launched in their community.
Since June 2018, participants have benefited from the artistic guidance of Amélie Bergeron (Quebec City) and Anne‑Marie White (Ottawa). Élargir les horizons artistiques is a joint project of the Association des théâtres francophones du Canada, Zones Théâtrales and the Carrefour international de théâtre de Québec.
Projects will be presented on Saturday, September 14th during the event Élargir les horizons artistiques (Broaden your artistic horizons) – Public Presentation
In collaboration with the Arts Council of Canada and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), Zones Théâtrales are also organizing Les transfrontaliers, a brand-new project consisting of a series of meetings that will bring together leaders from various theatre communities of the international Francophone community during the 8th edition of the biennial.
