International award-winning Soprano Measha Brueggergosman’s episode is a rediscovery of her Black Loyalist heritage in Nova Scotia, evoking the Maritime traumatic experience, and pairing together themes such as generational poverty and unquenchable hope. She collaborated with hip-hop artist Jay Vernon, violinist and composer/arranger Edwin Huizinga, and composer/arranger Aaron Davis to create poignant new works where opera meets hip-hop.
