The National Arts Centre’s Free Rein artistic residency allowed us to make the most of our time at the Banff Centre’s inaugural Evolution: Classical career development program. With the NAC’s support we were able to continue our creative work nestled in the Eardley Escarpment at the Venturing Hills Concert Studio (Pontiac, Quebec). In this inspiring location we had the opportunity to work closely with internationally renowned faculty, delving into curation, improvisation, movement, mind-set, and performance. The program culminated in a livestream performance from Venturing Hills. SHHH!! Ensemble is grateful to the Gryphon Trio, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the National Arts Centre, Venturing Hills Concert Studio, and the Evolution: Classical faculty and participants for their tireless support and inspiring commitment to pushing the creative boundaries of classical music.
