Of over 4,500 Donor's Circle members in 2019-2020, we are grateful that 31% of you have chosen to support the NAC on a monthly basis. Monthly giving provides a strong foundation for our artistic disciplines to plan and program with confidence, ensuring the performing arts you love will continue now and into the future.

By demonstrating your passion for the performing arts through giving, you’ve helped bring world renowned performers to our stages, invested in brilliant new creation, educated promising artists and ignited a passion for the performing arts in the next generation of audience members.

Dedicated supporters like you are continuously there behind-the-scenes as we work together to transform lives through the magic of the performing arts. Your generosity plays a huge role in keeping the performing arts thriving on stages across the country as well as in countless grateful hearts.

The Donors’ Circle

Thank you for playing a starring role in everything we accomplish at the NAC. Looking back on last season we have much to celebrate and it’s the generosity of our Donors’ Circle supporters that helped make it all possible.

With you by our side, we brought electrifying performance to our stage. We invested in brilliant new creation and gave artists the chance to share their voices. We helped emerging artists develop their talents and gave young people from across the country the chance to explore their own passion for the performing arts.

Some of the best creativity arises in challenging times, and these times are no exception. Our artistic leadership team is developing exciting programming for the time when we can return in full. Meanwhile, we’ve been working on some terrific opportunities to enjoy the arts either in an altered environment or via digital platforms.

In these times of great uncertainty for us all, we are grateful that you have chosen to support performance, creation and learning across Canada. Moving forward, your contributions to the National Arts Centre are crucial to support and connect artists and communities across Canada.

The Corporate Circle

The National Arts Centre Foundation thanks our local businesses and professionals for your generosity.

The 104 supporters of our Corporate Circle had a big impact, giving the performing arts the chance to flourish from coast- to-coast-to-coast. On behalf of the artists, audience members and young people exposed to the arts for the first time, we are grateful for your passion and generous support

In your own words...

With our professional focus upon progress in science and technology, the arts rarely enter our daily working lives. This is why we feel there is such great importance to give back and support the arts as essential to enrich our lives, the lives of our families and society as a whole.

Personally, I have gained a whole new appreciation of the arts through my children, Sasha (14) and Rowan (11), who for some years have been fortunate enough to be actively involved with The School of Dance in New Edinburgh, Ottawa – a superb establishment with both professional and recreational dance programs for children, youth and adults. At The School of Dance, my children, and many others, enjoy ballet training and arts education of the highest caliber, including wonderful opportunities to dance with the top Canadian ballet companies in their performances at the NAC.

The arts and the NAC need our dedication and support to thrive, especially in these difficult times. This is why our company, Kirby IP Canada, is delighted and proud to support the arts and the NAC as a corporate sponsor. Thank you to the NAC for your remote efforts to help us through these times. We very much look forward to meeting again soon within your walls.

Waiting in the Wings

A special group of supporters have shown their passion for the performing arts in an extraordinary way. Esteemed members of our Emeritus Circle have pledged future gifts to the NAC valued at more than $6 million, through gifts in their Will, gifts of life insurance and other planned giving arrangements.

Thank you for your generosity and vision, for the crucial role you play in ensuring a bright future for the performing arts in Canada.

In your own words...

In the simplest terms, I want to do what I can to help maintain live performances of music, ballet and theatre.

For a number of reasons, from health to moving away from Ottawa, I have not been able to attend NAC performances very much in the past ten years or so. But I certainly want it to be there for others like me who found delight, comfort, awe and even reverence for live performances of classical music.

In the future, I expect that individual donors and benefactors will have to play an ever-larger role in supporting live performances of classical music and reaching out through educational programs to introduce children and youth to this beautiful genre of the arts. Goodness knows we need all the beauty we can get.

It is, then, with profound thanks to the NAC for what it gave to me over the years that I will continue to support it for as long as I can and with as much as I can. The NAC was there at exactly the right time for me, opening up a sublime world that makes life all that much more worthwhile.
