CANADA’S NATIONAL ARTS CENTRE ORCHESTRA

Announces auditions for the following vacancies:

SECTION VIOLIN

(3 tenure-track positions)
effective the 2020-2021 Season

National auditions will be held in Ottawa May 9, 10 & 12, 2020. 

National auditions are open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only.

Season: 46 weeks including concerts, broadcasts, opera, ballet, recordings, tours and 5 weeks paid vacation

Salary: Minimum scale, 2019-2020: $2,018.00 per week

The members of the National Arts Centre Orchestra are Canadian members of the American Federation of Musicians.

Please note:  A refundable $100.00 deposit will be required from those musicians invited to audition.

Audition Repertoire

SOLOS:

  • 1 movement of a Bach Violin solo Sonata or Partita
  • 1st movement of a Mozart violin concerto (3, 4, or 5)
  • 1st movement of a standard violin concerto (with cadenza)

Please bring the piano part for the concertos as an accompanist is provided.
