Livestream FAQ

• Visit the NAC events page for information on all upcoming livestreams.

The link is sent by email, please make sure to check your junk mail folder.

• At the event start time, simply go to the NAC event page to watch.

NOTE: Regardless of which device you use, you will have a better viewing experience if your operating system and apps are up to date.

• Android phone: Devices using Android 8.0 (Oreo) or newer (Chrome or Firefox for Android recommended).
• iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad: Devices using iOS 12 or iPadOS 12 or newer (Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox recommended).
• PC or Mac computer: We recommend using Chrome. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge and Safari are also supported for our livestreams.
• Blackberry, Palm, and Windows phones: Devices using browsers that support  HTML5. We haven’t tested livestream on these devices, so viewing may not work as expected.
• TV with streaming devices: Apple TV (4th gen. +), Android TV (version 5.0+), Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV. We haven’t tested livestream on these devices, so viewing may not work as expected.

• Type the name you wish to appear in the Name box and accept the terms and conditions.
• Type your message (max. 280 characters) and press enter to send your message.

Shouldn’t there be an icon or image next to my chat message?

• No, an icon or image shows only for other participants, not for the individual who composed the chat message.

Can I use emojis in the chat?

• Currently, emojis aren’t available in the chat function, but you can try copying and pasting them from other applications.

Are our comments on the performance shared with the artists?

• Yes!

• Click on the      close chat icon in the top right corner to minimize

• You can go to the event page at any time. However, you will be able to join the livestream only a few minutes before the posted start time.

• Yes, you can join at any time with the appropriate link

• NAC Orchestra livestreams are available on the NAC video on demand page after the broadcast. Other programming is available for a limited time on the NAC website.
• Ticketed livestreams are often available for a limited time after the event. You can access the broadcast by following the link included in your emailed ticket.

• Click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the video window and select a lower video quality level.

• Click on the group of vertical bars at the bottom right corner of the video window to see the volume indicator.
• With each click to the right, the volume gets louder.
• You can also try adjusting the volume setting of your device.

• Click on the full screen icon in the bottom right corner of the video window (it looks like 4 arrows pointing outwards).

• Here are some fixes you can try:
  • Click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner and select Auto.
  • Click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner and select a lower video quality level.
  • Clear your browser’s cache.
  • Close any unused applications and browser tabs.
  • Disable any browser extensions, plugins, and add-ons.
  • Check the speed of your internet connection:
    • Recommended: Download speed of at least 5 Mbps.
    • Test your download speed
• If you’re still having trouble, consult the video playback troubleshooting page.

• Click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner and selecting a lower video quality level.

The sound cut out and I can’t get it back. What should I do?

• Try refreshing your browser.

The video isn’t in sync with the sound. How can I fix this?

• Try refreshing your browser. If this doesn’t fix the problem, please let us know in the chat.
