Like the great vocalists of jazz’s golden age, Crema’s voice resonates from a place that is deeper than the words she sings to connect her listeners to the elusive feelings and unexpressed longings that her music suggests.  Laura Crema has a rare interpretive gift that allows her to inhabit a song and dive deeply into the lyrics of an old standard to suggest new meanings with the sultry warmth of her voice.

Over the years, Laura Crema has performed and recorded with the finest musicians in Canadian jazz. Her most recent CD, fotografia was produced by the celebrated trumpeter and bandleader, Brad Turner and features a mixture of original material and carefully chosen standards that highlight Crema’s vocal powers. Her previous recordings, Spring Is Here (2007) and Almost Blue (2012) received airplay worldwide and positive notices in Downbeat, Coda and other taste making journals. Opportunities to experience such deep and pure musical expression don’t come around every day, so if you ever have the chance to take in Laura Crema and her incredible band live, don’t even dream of passing it up!
