Celebrating the NAC’s Ontario Scene, Maestro Peter Oundjian leads his Toronto Symphony Orchestra in a not-to-be missed program.
Bruckner’s soaring Seventh lets the acclaimed brasses of the TSO shine as they blaze their way in the symphony’s vast soundscapes and melodious themes. Augustin Hadelich solos in Haydn’s C-major Violin Concerto, whose final movement is a dazzling tour de force for the violin. To start, it’s Treeship, “a sonic voyage…music with sweep.... Lau has created a magical shimmer that was far greater than the sum of its orchestral parts.” (Toronto Star)
