About the Capital Music Awards
Since 2020, the Capital Music Awards have recognized outstanding achievements in Ottawa’s music industry, celebrating musicians, live music curators, music educators, sound engineers, music venues and more. Produced and presented by the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC), the annual awards highlight the diverse talent and vibrant music community of the National Capital Region, acting as a stepping stone for local artists towards accolades such as the Junos, as well as a platform for networking and collaboration within the music sector as Ottawa’s largest music industry gathering.
About the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition
The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is a bilingual member-driven non-profit organization dedicated to embedding music into the fabric of the City of Ottawa. Through advocacy, education, collaboration, and live music programming, OMIC works to create a thriving and sustainable music industry ecosystem in the nation's capital. The awards play a vital role towards the organization’s nurturing of those initiatives.
