Pop-up Exhibition
The Legacy of Hope Foundation has curated this exhibition to share Survivors’ Testimonies about their experiences, and of others who attended Residential School. We explore the attempts that children made to escape the abuse so that we can demonstrate the courage, resistance and agency of these Indigenous youth.
It is our intention to commemorate, to raise awareness, and to honour the memory of the many Indigenous children who lost their lives while attending Residential Schools or while trying to flee from them.

The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 24 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and impacts on seven generations of Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) children, their families and communities from attending Residential and/or Day Schools. By fostering empathy and understanding, LHF encourages people to address discrimination and injustice and contributes to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples.
