  Scientist and filmmaker Dr. Alizé Carrère

  Dr. Alizé Carrère is a scientist and filmmaker who researches and documents human adaptations to environmental change. After starting with projects related to agriculture, her work evolved into broader storytelling and education about human resilience. She brings her social science background and extensive field experience to her filmmaking, with the goal of elevating the human dimensions of climate change. She recently completed her doctorate at the University of Miami where she examined the burgeoning relationship between architecture, climate change, and ecological urban utopias.

  Alizé Carrère est une scientifique et cinéaste qui étudie et documente les adaptations humaines aux changements environnementaux. Après avoir débuté avec des projets liés à l’agriculture, son travail a évolué vers une narration et une éducation plus larges sur la résilience humaine. Elle apporte sa formation en sciences sociales et sa vaste expérience de terrain à sa réalisation cinématographique, dans le but de mettre en valeur les dimensions humaines du changement climatique. Elle a récemment terminé son doctorat à l’Université de Miami où elle a examiné la relation naissante entre l’architecture, le changement climatique et les utopies urbaines écologiques.

  Malaika Vaz is a filmmaker, TV presenter, National Geographic Explorer and Co-founder/CEO at Untamed Planet. Since founding New York and India-based production company Untamed Planet in 2017, she and her team have been producing award-winning films and series for media platforms like National Geographic, the BBC, Sky, Al Jazeera and the United Nations Environment Programme amongst others. Her recent broadcast work has included natural history series and films about endangered species, climate change, human migration, illegal wildlife trade and the human-wildlife interface. Malaika is passionate about translating films to tangible impact at the grassroots and policy levels and partners with global conservation organisations to scale the impact of her work.

  Malaika Vaz est cinéaste, présentatrice de télévision, exploratrice au National Geographic et cofondatrice/PDG d'Untamed Planet. Depuis la création de la société de production Untamed Planet basée à New York et en Inde en 2017, elle et son équipe produisent des films et des séries primés pour des plateformes médiatiques telles que National Geographic, la BBC, Sky, Al Jazeera et le Programme des Nations Unies pour l'Environnement, entre autres. Ses récents travaux de diffusion comprennent des séries et des films d'histoire naturelle sur les espèces en voie de disparition, le changement climatique, la migration humaine, le commerce illégal d'espèces sauvages et l'interface homme-faune. Malaika est passionnée par la traduction des films en un impact tangible au niveau local et politique et s'associe à des organisations mondiales de conservation pour accroître l'impact de son travail.
