Join us for a special announcement and Live event co-hosted by Facebook Canada, the NAC Indigenous Theatre and Indigenous storyteller Sarain Fox in honour of National Indigenous History Month. Together, we’ll recognize and celebrate Indigenous creators who express their identity, share history and celebrate culture online.

Lori Marchand, Managing Director, and Kevin Loring, Artistic Director, at the NAC Indigenous Theatre will co-host alongside Sarain, and will be joined by Zoey Roy, spoken word poet, Félicia Tremblay, Senior Advisor Outreach for Diversity and Inclusion at the National Arts Centre, and Theland Kicknosway, activist and educator, among others.

Indigenous storytelling is passed on from generation to generation and now also lives online, reaching a global audience. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram can amplify Indigenous voices, allowing for Indigenous Peoples to own how they express their identity, pass on history, and celebrate culture, bypassing institutional gatekeepers where Indigenous voices have been traditionally underrepresented.
