Talks

Join YAP voice instructor soprano Arianna Zukerman for a conversation with Canadian soprano Joyce El-Khoury, a graduate of the University of Ottawa and of Opera Lyra Ottawa’s Opera Studio program! Together they will talk about singing as a profession, from challenges to successes on stage.

Ms El-Khoury is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, and a First Prize winner in competitions such as the Mario Lanza Vocal Competition. She appeared with members of the NAC Orchestra in a “Music for a Sunday Afternoon” concert at the National Gallery of Canada in 2012.

Ms Zukerman returns to the NAC’s Young Artists Program for her second consecutive year. She recently performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the NAC Orchestra with her father, Pinchas Zukerman conducting.

ABOUT the YAP

The Young Artists Program, founded by Pinchas Zukerman in 1999 and now in its 21st edition, offers outstanding private instruction and chamber music coaching with additional career-related sessions and mentoring as well as performance opportunities including public chamber music concerts, public masterclasses, closed works-in-progress sessions and recitals.

The NAC’s Young Artist Program is made possible through the wonderful generosity of individual donors, corporations, and the NAC’s National Youth and Education Trust.
