Over the last decade and via countless shows, Mélissa Ouimet has been quietly sowing an incredible career. Marked by her poise and knack for pop lyricism, the Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter’s emotive rock has been celebrated by fans and festival alike, including the Francofolies of Montreal, Constellation Francophone in Toronto and as part of Canada 150.

Recipient of the Ontario Pop Audience Award, she flew to Asia in 2007, where she gave no less than 310 performances in one year, marathoning between Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul.

In 2016, Mélissa Ouimet released her first self-titled album, produced by Gautier Marinof (Marc Dupre, Jérôme Couture, Sophie Pelletier) and whose single "Nobody can stop me" made waves across Québec pop radio stations. Although she alternates between French and English songs with ease, she’s wholly aware of her roots: "French is important to me because it was my first means of communication. I think it's important to stay close to your roots and what molded you."

She’s collaborated with countless artists, and opened for heroes and contemporaries, including Robert Charlebois, Véronic DiCaire, Eric Lapointe, Bobby Bazini, Martin Deschamps, Porn Flakes and Sylvain Cossette.

Released in early 2018, her sophomore album builds on the foundation of rock, blues, and pop she established on her debut with returning producer Gautier Marinof. To boot, Melissa launched "Les Sessions M", an interview-based web series, where she talks art, life, and beyond with some of her favourite artists. NAC Presents is thrilled to welcome this eclectic and tenacious talent!
