She grew up with the last military junta that ruled Argentina. Long after the dictatorship ended, denial remained the price her good people paid not to know what they knew. At 17, she paid it too. Holding her index finger to her pursed lips, she turned 30. It will take her landscapes of silence to know that she lost more than what was taken. But then, how far would you be willing to travel to claim the beauty of your own voice? Across what borders never meant to be crossed would you journey to story that which has no voice but yours?
Out of her land, a silence. Out of a landscape, her voice. Out of a longing, a journey to story that which has no voice but hers.
