Free-spirited and full of life, Megan Jerome has pulled together a beautiful new set of songs, ooh, aah! She is delighted to invite you to this special concert celebrating her new release.

This is the sixth album for the Galaxie Rising Star Award Winner who is heard regularly on CBC and whose performance highlights include the Ottawa Jazz Festival, Ottawa Folk Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest and NYC's Rockwood Music Hall. This will be the second album with her band, The Together Ensemble, whose first album earned Best Bet picks by The Ottawa Citizen and CBC News.

Effortlessly timeless, elegant and inviting, ooh, aah! is signature Megan Jerome. Drawing on vintage and contemporary styles she and the band have created a relaxed album to comfort and delight. Every song has a story to tell, from sultry cowboy-tangos like Candles, to the whispered campfire intimacy of The Way You Love Me Is As Big As The Moon, to the upbeat and sassy Lumières, Tortières, to the gospel-tinged Let It Come. What unites Megan’s songs is a passion for her craft and a pared-down quality that allows her clear, pure voice and message to shine through.

Holding the cosmos for her in the background, her exquisite band gives her all the space she needs. Each one a highly respected and talented musician in his own right, The Together Ensemble wraps Megan’s voice and 1962 Wurlitzer in a lush instrumentation of guitar (Fred Guignion), organ (Don Cummings) and drums (Mike Essoudry). Tempos are deep and hypnotic, the dynamic range is wide, and the band envelops each song like a glowing malleable cloud. The effect is tangible and spiritual—the songs are at once orchestral and minimal, drawing from traditional gospel, jazz and meditative classical music.
