… with its wit, beauty and sheer physical daring, [Opus Cactus] typifies Momix at its inspired best… Sylviane Gold, Newsday
Celebrating the wonders and beauty of the American southwest, Moses Pendleton’s spectacular Opus Cactus is a gorgeously coloured, richly inventive work of dance fantasy. Graceful and athletic, the dancers dazzle us with their technique, versatility and artistry, as they morph effortlessly before our eyes into luminous, exotic, many-limbed creatures of the desert, soaring outlandish birds, and skittering insect collectives. With music from the Swingle Sisters to Brian Eno as a backdrop, this kaleidoscopic, illusory world beckons us to suspend our disbelief and embrace the wonder.
Performance is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes including intermission
