Close Encounters explores how we engage with dance, literature, nature and each other through music, with the most exciting encounter being between two orchestras – joining forces for the first time – the NAC Orchestra and Ottawa Youth Orchestra.

For one hour, listen to 125 musicians perform selections from Beethoven, Borodin, Kabalevsky and Faure in the newly renovated Southam Hall stage with NAC Orchestra Music Director Alexander Shelley conducting.

FREE EVENT. GENERAL ADMISSION. TICKETS REQUIRED.

Tickets available at the following locations:

  • NAC Satellite Box Office: 54 Elgin Street (at Queen Street)
  • Ottawa Technical High School: 485 Donald Street (Saturdays only between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.)

Donations towards the NAC’s National Youth and Education Trust and the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Bursary Program will be gratefully accepted at the door.
