“La richesse, de thèmes et d’imagination, ne manque pas à ce spectacle pour les tout-petits [...]. Cette rencontre intimiste à laquelle la petite enfance se voit conviée mérite le déplacement, pour sa richesse comme pour sa simplicité d’approche.” Raymond Bertin, Jeu Revue de Théâtre
Ages 2 to 5
One day, two high-spirited characters, Téoù (“Where-Are-You”) and Téqui (“Who-Are-You”), decide to venture out of their comfort zone and explore the world around them: the house across the street, the next neighbourhood over, the village beyond the forest—even the Milky Way! An ingenious, delightfully funny show that explores the notion of space, from the familiar to the great unknown.
Téoù (“Where-Are-You”) and Téqui (“Who-Are-You”) are bursting with a hundred questions bigger than a thousand houses. Why are we here, in this place, together? Who are we really? And if I weren’t Téoù, would you still be Téqui? Faced with these head-scratching enigmas, our two protagonists find some creative ways to search for the answers. Through song, dance and play, they venture out of their shell, folding and refolding cardboard into small scenes: the houses across the street, the village beyond the woods, the country no one talks about … they even blast off for the Milky Way!
In Là où j’habite (Where I Live), Nathalie Derome and Steeve Dumais explore the notion of space, from familiar spaces to imaginary ones: withdrawing into your body as into a nest; cocooning inside your house; getting a sense of the vastness of “outside” in order to understand “inside.” An inventive and delightful way to investigate our connection to each other and to the world while exploring an infinite galaxy. For over 25 years, Des mots d’la dynamite has been creating intelligent, appealing children’s shows with a touch of zany humour. Like their previous production Le spectacle de l’arbre (Scenes from a Tree), presented at the NAC in 2011, Là où j’habite is sure to amaze, astonish and amuse young theatre-goers and their parents!
