From the truck to the stage

The National Ballet of Canada's production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a dazzling over-the-top extravaganza that truly delights audiences. The sets, costumes and equipment required for this magnificent ballet fill nine tractor trailers and it takes an expert team to assemble this production for the stage.

However, before they can get started each truck must be backed into the NAC loading dock one and a time. And if you have seen the stage door entrance, you will know this is no small feat. When time is of the essence the NAC calls upon Tim McGahey, a former Property Master and driver with an unparalleled amount of experience. "In the years that I've been here we've had some close ones" laughs Tim, "but the curtain always goes up on time."
