Masque is a video creation by Hodan Youssouf, commissioned by Montreal company Joe Jack & John. Inspired by past explorations around the concept of “deaf music”, defined in the research and creation project Nos mains qui vibrent led by Véro Leduc, Hodan continues to “deconstruct the concept of accessibility” with this new work by asking: “what if it was hearing people who had access to signed music?”
Joe Jack & John creates and produces its work in Tiohtià:ke, on unceded territory of the Kanien'kehá: ka.
