Today the NAC Orchestra String Quartet performed at Nottingham Castle, a magnificent 17th century ducal mansion.
The String Quartet’s performance coincided with the Nottinghamshire Trent to Trenches exhibition which explores the impact of the First World War on the people of Nottingham at home and in the battlegrounds of Northern France.
Concert repertoire included The Maple Leaf Forever by Alexander Muir and String Quartet in C minor composed by Sir Ernest MacMillan in 1914 while he was a prisoner of war in Germany.
