The National Arts Centre Foundation is thrilled to announce a $2 million gift from The Azrieli Foundation to support its Creation Campaign. Launched in September 2016, funds raised from the Creation Campaign will support the National Arts Centre’s National Creation Fund which will invest in the development of new work by artists and arts organizations across the country.

Dr. Sharon Azrieli-Perez, an award-winning soprano, knows first-hand the need for artists to have the time and resources they require to fully realize their vision for their work. “There are so many talented, exciting and innovative artists in this country. The National Creation Fund will help them reach their full potential, bringing new ideas and perspectives to audiences across Canada through the wonderful conduit of the performing arts.”  The Azrieli Foundation is committed to creation coming to life from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Gail O’Brien, Chair of the Creation Campaign, said “The Azrieli Foundation’s remarkable gift will bring us new creations in theatre, dance and music—works that are compelling and ambitious and might not otherwise have developed beyond their infancy. On behalf of the National Arts Centre, Canadian artists, and future audiences, thank you.”
