Festival season is in full swing and Canadians everywhere are gathering to enjoy cultural activities outdoors. From Vancouver to P.E.I Shakespeare is performed in parks and on beaches, music of all kinds drifts through the warm night air and during the day families gather to watch buskers, discover new music and savour local produce.
It is in that spirit of celebration that we look back at the highlights from the NAC Ontario Scene which took place earlier this year. There were so many fantastic performances at Ontario Scene it’s impossible to pick a favourite.
The eclectic and spectacular celebration featured 600 artists from all disciplines, and took place at more than 30 venues across Ottawa-Gatineau.
Ontario Scene was the seventh in a series of biennial, national festivals showcasing the work of established and emerging artists from a specific region of the country.
