Kerry Bursey and Ellen Torrie “Kalliope”
The NAC Free Rein artistic residency program made it possible for Ellen Torrie and I to participate in the Banff Centre Evolution: Classical online program under the banner of our newly formed group, Kalliope. Directed by the Gryphon Trio, the program provided coachings with wonderful established musicians and artists as well as lectures and discussions with a roster of other internationally renowned musicologists, composers and an incredible variety of talented and inspired participants.
The NAC program also specifically allowed us to perform a livestreamed concert broadcast at the Music Room in Halifax and enlist the help of their audio and video technicians. Ellen and I are very grateful for the support and the opportunity to work with such inspiring people.
