Before they arrived at the NAC for rehearsals, we asked a few questions to the members of the 2014-15 Ensemble about themselves.
1) What are you working on over the summer?
I am directing a music/theatre collaboration called The Secret Garden of Lido Pimienta for SummerWorks, working on my web series, Flush, and writing a new play...
2) What are you looking most forward to when you arrive at the NAC?
Getting to know Ottawa, getting to know the Ensemble and exploring the NAC building. I hope I don't get lost! I'm also really excited to be in The Importance of Being Earnest – it is such a good play.
3) How did you get involved in acting?
My parents were both in theatre growing up, and it seemed like the most exciting job. My dad (Richard Greenblatt) was actually part of the NAC acting company when he was about my age!
4) What’s the most interesting thing that has happened to you on stage?
I was in a play (The Railway Children) that had a real, operational, steam train and at one point I had to jump on the tracks and pretend to stop the train. It was incredibly safely choreographed, but every time it was just as terrifying and thrilling.

A graduate of the Acting Program at the National Theatre School of Canada, Natasha is also a writer, director and educator, and recently produced her first full length play, The Peace Maker, at the Next Stage Festival. She is also developing a web series called Flush set only in bathrooms: www.flushtheseries.com.

2) Qu’attendez‑vous avec le plus d’impatience de votre séjour au CNA d’Ottawa?
Découvrir Ottawa, apprendre à connaître les membres de l’Ensemble, et explorer le bâtiment du CNA. J’espère que je ne m’y perdrai pas! Je suis aussi extrêmement enthousiasmée à l’idée de jouer dans The Importance of Being Earnest, c’est une œuvre tellement remarquable!
3) Comment êtes‑vous devenu acteur/actrice?
Mes parents faisaient tous deux du théâtre dans leur jeunesse, et cela me semblait le métier le plus passionnant. Mon père (Richard Greenblatt) faisait d’ailleurs partie de la compagnie de théâtre du CNA lorsqu’il avait à peu près mon âge!
4) Quelle est la chose la plus intéressante qui vous soit arrivée sur scène?
Je jouais dans une pièce (The Railway Children) qui disposait d’un véritable train à vapeur opérationnel, et à un moment donné, je devais sauter sur les rails et faire semblant d’arrêter le train. La chorégraphie était extraordinairement sécuritaire, mais chaque fois, j’étais tout aussi terrifiée et survoltée.
