In celebration of National Volunteer Week, which takes place from April 15 to 21, the National Arts Centre would like to give a huge thanks to our dedicated Donors’ Circle volunteers. Since the National Arts Centre Foundation was created in 2000, volunteers have selflessly given their time as a way to express their love of the performing arts.

Today you will find our volunteers stuffing envelopes for mass mailings, helping out with Open Rehearsal’s or “pampering” donors in the Ruddy Lounge before a performance or during intermission. In the Ruddy Lounge, our volunteers greet NAC Foundation supporters with ready smiles and are always happy to chat about the latest NAC performances.

Long-time NAC Foundation Donors’ Circle volunteer Ria Challen shares “It has been a pleasure to work with and meet so many people: the staff of the Foundation office, the NAC staff (ushers, bar staff, house managers, to name a few), my fellow volunteers, but most of all the donors. I love serving them, chatting with them— some of whom I am on a first name basis. You are all family.”

We cannot thank NAC Foundation Donors’ Circle volunteers enough for the commitment to helping us be a catalyst for performance, creation and learning across Canada. You help us at our busiest times, and you make donors feel appreciated and welcomed. You are key to our success. Thank you!
