  Aimee Bouchard

  Aimee Bouchard (she/her) is an artist educator, arts administrator and theatre maker, as well as an Ontario Certified Teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Drama and a Bachelor of Education with a focus in Artist in Community Education from Queen’s University. 

  Aimee works as the Learning Coordinator in the English Theatre at the National Arts Centre. Before joining the NAC, Aimee worked as the Education & Participation Programs Manager at Young People's Theatre and as the Education Coordinator at Theatre Direct.

  As an artist educator, Aimee has developed and facilitated drama programming for schools and communities across Ontario. She is passionate about collaborating with underserved communities to remove barriers to accessing arts education, and some of her favourite facilitation experiences have included working with young people in family shelters and children’s hospitals.

  As a theatre artist, Aimee’s practice focuses on theatre for young audiences and immersive and site-specific theatre. She combines these in her work with Single Thread Theatre Company, where she creates immersive theatre experiences for young people which centre them as the heroes of their own stories.

  Aimee is also a passionate advocate for accessibility and inclusion in the arts. She represents Canada within the ASSITEJ International Inclusive Arts Network, through which she endeavours to connect artists of all abilities in order to share best practices in access and inclusion in theatre for young audiences across Canada.

  Aimee endeavours to support the broader arts education community in her voluntary role serving on the board of the Arts Education Network of Ontario.

  Aimee Bouchard (elle) est une artiste enseignante, une administratrice d’activités artistiques, une artiste de théâtre, ainsi qu’une enseignante agréée de l’Ontario. Elle détient un baccalauréat ès arts spécialisé en art dramatique, et un baccalauréat en éducation, portant particulièrement sur les artistes et l’éducation communautaire, de l’Université Queen.

  Aimee travaille comme coordonnatrice de l’apprentissage au Théâtre anglais du Centre national des Arts. Avant de se joindre au CNA, Aimee a été gestionnaire des programmes éducatifs et participatifs au Young People's Theatre, et coordonnatrice du volet éducatif du Theatre Direct.

  En tant qu’artiste enseignante, Aimee a conçu et animé des programmes d’art dramatique pour des écoles et des communautés ontariennes. Elle aime particulièrement travailler en collaboration avec des communautés mal desservies pour tenter de rendre l’éducation aux arts plus accessible. Parmi ses expériences d’animation favorites figure le travail avec des jeunes vivant dans des refuges familiaux et avec des enfants hospitalisés.

  Comme artiste de théâtre, la démarche d’Aimee s’articule autour du théâtre jeunesse et du théâtre immersif et contextuel. Elle conjugue d’ailleurs ceux-ci dans le cadre de son travail avec la compagnie de théâtre Single Thread, où elle crée des expériences théâtrales immersives pour de jeunes publics, qui se retrouvent au centre de leur propre histoire.

  Aimee soutient aussi avec passion l’accessibilité et l’inclusion dans le domaine des arts. Elle représente le Canada au sein du Réseau international des arts inclusifs de l’ASSITEJ, où elle s’efforce de mettre en relation des artistes, ayant des capacités différentes, afin qu’ils puissent s’échanger leurs meilleures pratiques en matière d’accessibilité et d’inclusion pour le théâtre jeunesse de partout au Canada.

  Aimee travaille à soutenir l’ensemble du secteur des arts et de l’éducation en siégeant bénévolement au conseil d’administration du Arts Education Network of Ontario.

  Sarah Patricia Howard

  

  Sarah Patricia Howard

  Sarah Patricia Howard is an Ottawa-based singer-songwriter, teaching artist, and arts worker.

  Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting from Carleton University (2018), where she was mentored by Juno-winner Lynn Miles, celebrated Canadian songwriter Ian Tamblyn, and earned the Carleton University Medal for Music. Writing in English and French, Sarah aims to tell the stories that matter – the stories of our lives – through her songs. Her first EP, Niagara (2018), explores how trauma maps onto landscapes in her own hometown, through a mix of field recordings and compositions. Sarah has performed at the Ottawa Grassroots Festival, Girls to the Front at Irene’s Pub, Remixed Festival, as a Via Rail Artist on Board, the Centre Culturel Frontenac, and the National Arts Centre.

  As a teaching artist, she has worked on a number of co-creation projects with children, youth, and community members, and particularly with English and French language learners. She has served as a volunteer educator for Ottawa organizations Girls+ Rock Ottawa and the Lotus Centre for Special Music Education. Sarah is an Ontario Certified Teacher (Junior, Intermediate, Senior Divisions) in Music and French, and completed the H’Art Centre’s MixAbilities training to support artist-participants with disabilities in 2021.

  She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from uOttawa in Arts Administration (2013), a Master of Arts in Music & Culture from Carleton University (2015), and an Artist in Community Education Bachelor of Education from Queen's University (2020).

  Sarah is grateful to work as the Coordinator of the Music Alive Program at the National Arts Centre of Canada, on the unceded territory of the Algonquin people.

  Sarah Patricia Howard, auteure-compositrice-interprète d’Ottawa, enseigne et travaille dans le milieu des arts.

  Elle détient un baccalauréat en écriture de chansons de l’Université Carleton (2018) qui lui a décerné la médaille universitaire en musique. Au cours de sa formation, elle a bénéficié du mentorat de Lynn Miles, lauréate d’un Prix JUNO et du célèbre auteur-compositeur canadien Ian Tamblyn. Aussi bien à l’aise en français qu’en anglais, Sarah Patricia Howard cherche avec ses chansons à raconter des histoires qui nous interpellent et font écho à nos vies. Niagara, son premier microalbum paru en 2018, explore la façon dont les traumatismes s’inscrivent dans les paysages dans sa ville natale, avec des compositions et du matériel sonore enregistré sur le terrain. Sarah Patricia Howard s’est produite au Festival Grassroots d’Ottawa, au Girls to the Front du Irene’s Pub, au Remixed Festival, à bord des trains de VIA Rail, au Centre Culturel Frontenac et au Centre national des Arts.

  En tant qu’artiste-enseignante, elle a participé à de nombreux projets de cocréation auprès d’enfants, de jeunes et de membres de la collectivité, en particulier les élèves étudiant en français et en anglais. Elle a également été bénévole pour les organismes Girls+ Rock Ottawa et Lotus Centre for Special Music Education. Enseignante agréée de l'Ontario en musique et en français (aux niveaux débutant, intermédiaire et avancé), Sarah Patricia Howard est en mesure d’intervenir auprès d’artistes participants en situation de handicap grâce à la formation MixAbilities suivie en 2021 au H’Art Centre.

  Elle possède également un baccalauréat ès arts spécialisé en administration des arts de l’Université d’Ottawa (2013), une maîtrise en musique et culture de l’Université Carleton (2015) et un baccalauréat en éducation communautaire de l’Université Queen’s (2020).

  Sarah Patricia Howard a le bonheur de travailler à titre de collaboratrice du programme Vive la musique du Centre national des Arts, situé sur le territoire non cédé des Algonquins.

  Education Associate and Teaching Artist, NAC Dance Siôned Watkins

  

  Education Associate and Teaching Artist, NAC Dance Siôned Watkins Ottawa, Ontario

  Dancer, choreographer and teacher, Siôned is a vibrant member of the Canadian dance community. Siôned Watkins brings over 20 years of professional dance experience to her movement teachings. After graduating from Les Atelier de danse de Montréal, she began dancing for various Montréal dance companies including 10 years of international touring with Danièle Desnoyers' company, Le Carré Des Lombes. After studying and training in a myriad of movement methodologies, Siôned was introduced to Gyrokinesis® in 2007 during a residency in Banff with Dana Gingras and thus began her journey to becoming a certified and licensed Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® instructor. Also an Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) practitioner, Siôned is dedicated to sharing these modalities with professionals, teachers and students alike. She has taught at École De Danse De Montréal, UQAM, Concordia University, Université d'Ottawa, School of Dance and Ottawa Dance Directive. Siôned is the Dance Education Associate and Teaching Artist for the National Arts Centre.

  Interprète, chorégraphe et enseignante, Siôned joue un rôle dynamique au sein de la communauté de la danse au Canada. Experte dans lʼart du mouvement, Siôned Watkins a plus de 20 ans dʼexpérience dans le domaine de la danse professionnelle. Après avoir obtenu un diplôme des Ateliers de danse moderne de Montréal, elle a dansé pour plusieurs compagnies de danses montréalaises, notamment Le Carré des Lombes de Danièle Desnoyers, avec lequel elle sʼest produite en tournée à lʼéchelle mondiale pendant dix ans. En 2007, alors quʼelle était en résidence à Banff, elle a découvert la Gyrokinésis®, qui est venue complémenter une formation riche en méthodologies du mouvement. Elle poursuit dès lors un certificat en Gyrotonic® et en Gyrokinésis®. Spécialiste de lʼétirement isolé actif (EIA), elle sʼest engagée à partager son enseignement aussi bien avec des professionnels quʼavec des étudiants, notamment à lʼÉcole de danse contemporaine de Montréal, à lʼUniversité du Québec à Montréal, à Concordia, à la School of Dance, au Centre de danse contemporaine à Ottawa et lʼUniversité dʼOttawa. Elle et associée en éducation et artiste enseignante de la Danse au Centre national des Arts.
