*Available from November 4 to 10 only*

Description:
At the crossroads of theatre, clowning, and visual arts, Object Theatre is a fascinating multidisciplinary artistic form! In this workshop offered by the Vancouver-based theatre company Kleine Cie, students are invited to explore the symbolic and metaphorical power of everyday objects through improvisation, physical theatre, and clowning. By highlighting objects on stage, transforming them, and exploring their interaction with the bodies of the performer-creators, students will create unique short theatrical pieces that reflect their personal universe.

Goals:
To practice expression and communication skills in a fun, artistic activity in front of an audience. To build confidence by expressing one’s imagination. To develop critical thinking and individual aesthetic sense. To work on scale and proportion. To introduce students to another artistic language, that of Object Theatre. To help them see everyday objects in a new light—as creative, evocative, and meaningful tools.

Material:
A (performance) space, 2-3 tables, and chairs.

Age:
6 to 18 years old (the exercises are adapted to different age groups)

Available in French and English
