The National Arts Centre (NAC) is inviting Canadian performing arts organizations who share our commitment to creating transformational experiences for artists and arts professionals to collaborate with us on a new apprenticeship program.

Designed for individuals from equity-deserving groups who are pursuing a career in technical direction, production management, technical design and/or producing, this initiative addresses the significant challenges early-career arts professionals encounter as they begin their careers, and is informed by industry-wide research and outreach.

The NAC is creating a range of learning and leadership programs for artists and arts professionals, both at the NAC and in partnership with arts organizations from across the country, with the goals of:

  • Removing barriers and creating opportunities for individuals, notably from equity-deserving groups;
  • Building capacity and expanding networks for professionals and organisations within our sector;
  • Galvanising and resourcing the next generation of arts leaders.

We are deeply committed to working within community to create programs for, and with, the performing arts sector. We know many companies want to build mentorship capacity, and this program offers the resources to do so.
