The Jivewires are an Ottawa-based band who take their inspiration from the "Jump/Jive" bands of the late 40s/early 50s. They have 5 albums of original music to their credit and have toured throughout Canada, the UK and the northeastern US. The band delivers a high energy live show with a focus on original songs, jazz improvisation and lyrical satire.

This event is a fundraiser designed to support the philanthropic activities of the Shine Foundation, and specifically the Shine Community Music Program (SCMP), dedicated to providing musical opportunities, including band participation, to children from underserved areas of Ottawa who otherwise would not have these opportunities. This is a joint project between the Shine Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa.
