Nothing is ever over, because nothing ever begins.

A character tells her life story: days of suffocating banality, an ordinary existence that gradually morphs into something fierce and unpredictable, fleeting glimpses of a personality being torn apart. The nice young woman loses her bearings and locks herself in a prison of her own making. The boss’s cupcakes don’t cut it any more… and she implodes.

Rising young local director Magali Lemèle stages this play, based on an installation inspired by a theory along the lines of the Big Bang. It’s a probing exposé of the mechanisms of the everyday, and of what happens when they fail: the disintegration of the workplace and its bureaucracy, the breakdown of human relationships. How does she fit into this stark and impersonal setting?

Backed by a musician who shares the stage, Magali investigates the connections between performer, text, character and rhythm. The result is a fresh and impassioned performance with just a hint of stand-up comedy.
