with Mary Ellen MacLean
A six-week in-person workshop
Want to tell your story? Or a story? What story have you always wanted to tell?
As Elders in the queer community, your stories are important to be shared, to be heard, and to be remembered.
This Winter/Spring session is open to folks who have never written a story and to those who have. If you have attended one of Mary Ellen’s workshops before, you are welcome to come back and develop your storytelling skills. Mary Ellen has over thirty years of experience creating work for the stage and collaborating with people of all ages.
During this six-week workshop, participants will meet once a week for two hours to learn basic skills to create and tell their story. Stories can be serious or comic or a blend of both. Participants may use movement, puppets, music – however you want to tell your story - are all welcome!
This workshop offers an opportunity to gather, deepen your community connections, and create stories with the support of each other. The focus is on having FUN, learning some new skills, and connecting with each other.
Family and friends are invited to the final session to hear the participant’s stories.
This workshop is held in English. The registration fee gives you access to all 6 workshop sessions from February 22 to March 29, 2025.
