Join us for an intimate evening of live music at the National Arts Centre's Fourth Stage in Ottawa, featuring Canadian singer-songwriters Joe McLeod and The Public Service Duo. Both artists are renowned for their ability to weave powerful stories through their music, creating an atmosphere of connection and community.

Joe McLeod has made a name for himself in the Canadian music scene with his heartfelt lyrics and evocative performances. His sound blends folk, pop, and rock, and his recent album, The Dancer and the Bear, showcases his unique ability to capture the emotional depth of life’s experiences. Joe's music has been featured in multiple seasons of The Canadian Tradition television show, and he has toured extensively across North America, Japan, and Germany. Known for his live performances, Joe McLeod’s songs often reflect personal journeys and resonate deeply with audiences.

Dartmouth-based indie-folkers, The Public Service were founded on the belief that sharing your gifts with the world is in itself a public service. In recent years, TPS lead singers and lyricists George Woodhouse and Joss MacNeil have toured as The Public Service duo, serving up an intimate storytelling experience that puts their lyrics and harmonies front and centre. Together they emit an infectious stage presence that blurs the line between stage and audience, often giving way to full rooms of strangers singing-along together. Since they formed in 2019, The Public Service has performed the main stages of The IIHF World Juniors, Full Circle Festival, and Stan Rogers Folk Festival. Their debut album, Songs For The Living (2022) is a collection of love letters disguised as folk songs for people and places left behind. In 2024, the band recorded a live EP and released a new single called “FLOAT OFF” which climbed up to #7 on the East Coast Top 30 where it stayed for seven weeks. The band is excitedly working on their second full-length studio album set for release in 2025.

The Fourth Stage at the NAC, with its cozy, cabaret-style seating and top-notch acoustics, is the ideal venue to experience the magic of these two artists up close. This intimate setting allows the audience to fully immerse themselves in the stories and melodies, making it a memorable evening for all who attend.

Don’t miss this chance to be part of an evening where music and storytelling come together to build community and foster connection.
