  Sherry Lee Hunter

  Sherry Lee Hunter (she/her) is an actor, Master Teacher of Physical Theatre and was the founder, performer and director of the award winning touring company, Jest in Time Theatre. Select Jest credits include tours across Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Alaska. Jest performed for Queen Elizabeth, did three National CBC TV Specials, starred in The International Beckett Festival as well as performing plays by Sam Shepard, and other notable playwrights. Sherry Lee's select performances as a principal actor include Leslie Nielson's TV series, 'Liography', and on stage at Neptune Theatre, Nightwood Theatre, Ship's Company, the Atlantic Theatre Festival and the Atlantic Fringe Festival with her one woman play 'Alone' among others. She has taught Physical Theatre/Mime to children, teens and adults for 35 years including Neptune Theatre's PPTP, PERFORM in the Schools, the National Theatre School, Acadia and Dalhousie Universities and privately. Her highly engaging style of teaching is inspired by her late mentor, Tony Montanaro, who believed in developing and encouraging each individual student's personal style of theatre and expression. Her teaching is a process whereby students learn to create imagistic Physical Theatre and explore their own self-expression. It’s engaging, fun and creatively stimulating, moving each student toward honesty, vulnerability and utterly captivating performances.

  Sherry Lee Hunter (elle/il) est comédienne, maître professeur de théâtre physique et a été la fondatrice, interprète et directrice de la compagnie itinérante primée Jest in Time Theatre. Jest a notamment effectué des tournées au Canada, en Australie, à Hong Kong, au Japon et en Alaska. Jest a joué pour la Reine Elizabeth, a fait trois émissions spéciales pour la télévision nationale de la CBC, a été la vedette du Festival international Beckett et a joué des pièces de Sam Shepard et d'autres dramaturges de renom. Sherry Lee a joué en tant qu'actrice principale dans la série télévisée de Leslie Nielson, "Liography", et sur scène au Neptune Theatre, au Nightwood Theatre, au Ship's Company, à l'Atlantic Theatre Festival et à l'Atlantic Fringe Festival avec sa pièce solo "Alone", entre autres. Son style d'enseignement très engageant s'inspire de son regretté mentor, Tony Montanaro, qui croyait au développement et à l'encouragement du style personnel de théâtre et d'expression de chaque élève. Son enseignement est un processus par lequel les étudiants apprennent à créer un théâtre physique imaginaire et à explorer leur propre expression. Il est engageant, amusant et stimulant sur le plan créatif, poussant chaque élève vers l'honnêteté, la vulnérabilité et des performances tout à fait captivantes.
