Collected Strands is an improvising chamber music ensemble composed of four fantastic musicians expressing sounds ranging from contemporary modal grooves to classical, folk, experimental, and ambient music.
Leah Roseman, the violinist, has been a member of the NAC Orchestra since 1997 and is known worldwide as the host and producer of the podcast Conversations with Musicians with Leah Roseman. Raphael Weinroth-Browne is a brilliant, internationally renowned cellist and composer who combines his classical training with a passion for progressive metal and Middle Eastern music, and who has developed a really unique artistic and expressive voice. Mike Essoudry is a phenomenal drummer and composer who plays with a wide variety of excellent bands including the Atlantis Jazz Ensemble and the Megan Jerome Together Ensemble. James McGowan is a classical, jazz and improvising pianist and composer, as well as an award-winning faculty member in the Music program at Carleton University.
