Nattilingmiutut is an Inuktut dialect spoken in Gjoa Haven, where the story of The Breathing Hole is set. The translation of The Breathing Hole into Nattilingmiutut is the largest piece of text in the language and has become an important teaching tool for the language’s preservation in community.
