Saxophonist Chet Doxas and drummer Jim Doxas have earned an outstanding reputation on the Canadian and international music scene through years of creative interchange with many of jazz's most prominent figures. Raised in a musical home in Montreal, their father, George Doxas, is a music educator/composer/recording engineer/producer. Chet and Jim's performance and touring experience has led to collaborations with such international and Canadian luminaries as Oliver Jones, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Dave Douglas and Maria Schneider, to name a few.
The Doxas brothers represent two musicians with a deep bond sharing their vision in a quartet group. Chet and Jim Doxas have been making music together since early childhood. Together with bassist and long-time associate Adrian Vedady and world-renowned pianist Marc Copland, the group embraces their collective experiences to form a sound that is entirely their own.
