“...dancing for the pure hell of it, is BJM’s trademark ... the tightly knit band of committed and seemingly inexhaustible dancers emerged as a big Canadian success story.” Dance Magazine
Internationally celebrated company BJM returns to the NAC celebrating their milestone 40th anniversary season. Under the artistic direction of Louis Robitaille, the troupe presents a mixed bill of contemporary works from three prolific choreographers: French Benjamin Millepied, Chinese-Canadian Wen Wei Wang, and Israeli Barak Marshall. Notorious for their virtuoso dance sequences and flair for experimentation, classical steps are sprung apart, reworked, and dispatched at flying speeds. Each brings a distinctive vocabulary to the program, showcasing the extreme physicality and depth of emotion evoked by the exquisite dancers.
