For over a decade, the Acadian trio Vishtèn has dazzled audiences with their mix of traditional French songs and original instrumentals which blend modern rock sensibility and indie-folk influences with Celtic and Acadian genres. Lauded as “traditional but fiercely up-to-the-moment” (Penguin Eggs magazine), this band from Canada’s East Coast has become an ambassador of Francophone culture around the world.
All three members of Vishtèn were raised in homes where dancing, traditional music and kitchen parties were part of everyday life. Together, they pay tribute to their traditions and to the strong historical and musical ties between their respective Acadian island communities.
In 2019, Vishtèn was nominated at three award galas: the JUNOS, the ECMA and Music PEI.
