Those lucky enough to catch Honji Wang and Sébastien Ramirez’s NAC debut in 2016 will be particularly thrilled about this return engagement. In Borderline, the dynamo couple at the forefront of contemporary hip-hop have taken the art form to a whole new level. A sophisticated scenic rigging apparatus creates illusions of weightlessness, where six performers thwart gravity. Physical forces on stage interplay with ideas on social boundaries, and together form a poetic reflection on desires for freedom. With original music by LACRYMOBOY, this work redefines invention.
Did you know: Honji Wang and Sébastien Ramirez contributed to the creation phase of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour in New York City and choreographed part of her live show.
